Where are water softeners located in your home?

 

There are several locations were a water softener may be installed. It is mainly dependent on where the water main enters the house. If the mains stop cock is under the kitchen sink and space allows then this is an easy option.

If the stop cock is in the garage then this is also a good option.

The utility room can also be an ideal location if space allows.

Water softeners can be installed outside but do require some protection against frost (outside frost cabinets can be provided)

We also install water softeners in the loft with a safety tank, this is normally the last option as taking the salt to the loft can be an inconvenience.

If you are living in an apartment block and heat your own water then it is possible that a water softener can be fitted.

If you have a communical supply then this is not always possible, although we have softened entire apartment blocks where all tenants agree to have softened water.
